The Beautiful Thing We're Building

When I first imagined Reggie Brown Reads, I thought I was creating a few fun reading activities inspired by a character from my book, You're Too Much, Reggie Brown. I knew Reggie loved books. I knew she had big ideas and an even bigger imagination. I thought it would be fun to create a few puzzles and short stories that kids could enjoy alongside her adventures.

But something interesting started happening.

Every time I created a new activity or story, another idea appeared. A new character stepped forward. A new mystery popped into my head. A new way to encourage kids to read, think, and create started to take shape.

Suddenly Reggie wasn’t just a character in a book anymore. She was leading a whole world of curious readers.

Now there are mysteries to solve, puzzles to crack, book clubs to lead (the Bright-Eyed Bookworms), and stories waiting to be written. Reggie has her friends (including best friend CeCe), her family (the littles will love Kindergarten cousin Kiana Brown of the upcoming Kiana's Cubby series), and a growing community (online and real-world) who believe that reading should always feel like an adventure.

And the truth is, we’re still building.

Reggie Brown Reads continues to grow and change as new ideas arrive—sometimes in the middle of the night, sometimes in the middle of a conversation, and sometimes when a simple question appears: What would Reggie do next?

What we’re creating is bigger than worksheets or activities. We’re building a world where stories spark curiosity, puzzles invite discovery, and kids see themselves as readers, thinkers, and creators.

And honestly?

It’s turning into something more beautiful than I could ever have imagined.
